Fun album. One of my favourites from 2012.
Brilliant album. Excellent arrangement. Up tempo. Quirky and funky. Some farily addictive songs. Does fade a bit on the 2nd half of the ablum hence I have to reduce my rating a little. But the first half is four star. (I consider my taste fairly mainstream)
I Love the "Hands of Man", certainly not a bad album. Good debut, interested to see were they go on their follow up.
Every song seems to be a different genre.
They are outstanding!
It just gets under your skin somehow giving an eclectic electric modernisation of the old western genre. With driving drums and interesting arrangements, this is easily one of my favourite albums of 2012.
i don't know what to do with this. i know that it's good. it's like a decent, organic indie artist met a good electronica artist and they decided to explore the sounds of can and talking heads under the spirit of sparks. (Yes, they definitely remind me of the sparks sans the humor.) However, they're not melding the two together as one sound -- it's as if they're playing beside each other, perfectly timed in each song. The two genres compliment each other on this album, but it doesn't really feel like it should. I know that doesn't make sense.
Falling somewhere between The Beta Band and The Coral's eponymous début albums, with added eastern overtones. For me, it conjures up images of The Monkees being chases across the desert by a bunch of highly offended Arabs.
Great musical concept and great songs all the way through. Definitely in the running for my favourite album of the year. Like so much other great music it takes older formats, mashes them up to make something very fresh. On top of that, they've made a very solid album from start to finish. It's almost too catchy, though, and I fear that at some point this is going to explode in popularity and will find its way to being overexposed and overplayed.
I like this a lot, sounds like electro with acoustic running through it. I like the sound they have come up with nd te harmonies throughout it. Only problem a couple of songs are repetitive and annoying. Waveforms is my favourite at the moment.
