I don't think I've ever enjoyed one of those tapes and this was no exception. I never got the point of the whole remixing -great or not so great - songs business. In most cases, I consider the original preferable. Plus, they go on for way too long. Even If there were let's say 8 tracks I liked and 2 I couldn't connect with -which is not the case, just for example's sake - it would equate to 15-20 minutes of discomfort (yeah, the power of repetition and stuff, I know). On that note, there were some acceptable ones. For example, Crossroads - Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Gettin' It - Too $hort, Last Dance - TRU, High Till I Die - 2Pac, were all ok, no matter how I feel towards the original. Also appreciated the reggae-ish Rollerskates - Steel Pulse which provided a much needed change of pace right after the gargantuan 37 minutes long freestyle. Of course, everything else is a side dish, it's mostly about the freestyle, the central piece of the album. The performances are at least good, but there were hardly any spectacular moments. On the other hand, I do get the positive and cozy vibes, you can tell they had tons of fun and they don't seem to run out of energy despite its length. If anything, they get better as time goes on.
To sum it up, I'm sorry, but I find its historical value far greater than its entertainment value.
