Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.4/100, a mean average of 74.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.8.

I like this album a lot, can't put my finger exactly on why but maybe the dreaminess of it.
Let me just say that Hot Chip is a really good and simple band.
Obviously, Boy From School and Over and Over are the diamonds of the disc. But also Colours and Look After Me are pretty sweet.
I think the vocals and balance between them and the instrumentation is what makes this band shine.
This second Hot Chip's album is also their second best (behind Made In The Dark). This song was so refreshing back in 2006. The Warning was a great alternative in most linear electro scenehe Warning back then.
Well, I prefer to see and hear an Hot Chip live performance to listen to one of their albums.
Favorite tracks: Colours (85/100), Over And Over (90), Breakdown (90), So Glad To See You (85)
Less favorite tracks: Look After Me, Arrest Yourself (2x 70)
"Hot Chip will break your legs, snap off your head", probably the biggest lie on the album. These guys are tender and sweet, writing introverted romantic songs, wrapping themselves from the world in colorful electronic soundscapes. They have the same pop sensibilities that Daft Punk has, but they're a lot more playful about it, skipping notes and changing rhythms unexpectedly. Had to give it a few listens, but now one of my favorites from 2006.
Hot Chip put themselves on the indie pop dance-floor map with "and i was a boy from school" mining the darker aspects of electronic music on "the warning" by being more focused, all while being more pop friendly. It certainly shows in that track as well as "over and over" and "no fit state"
