Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 73.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

Basement's "all the non-mainstream alternative bands from the 90s" tribute album hardly breaks the mould or delivers anything groundbreaking, but it does wind up being remarkably enjoyable, with its heavy-but-friendly overdriven sound conjuring up all kinds of memories about your teenage years.

Easy-listening emo that doesn't take itself too seriously yet still packs the emotional punch you'd expect. Sure it sounds like it could have come out 25 years ago, but it does at least mean you can listen to something new that mimics the grunge/noise-rock/alt rock you wish was still being made today.

Really dig this album. Loved it for years. Tugs on the heartstrings, fresh sound, angsty but emotional lyrics. Full album goes well together and there are no songs I would skip or call my least favorite.

Pristine emo. So brutally catchy yet so unignorably downtrodden. The lyrics on this album are absolutely exquisite, as are the instrumentals, more specifically, the lead guitar riffs that get stuck in your head and play in the back of your mind all day long. So delicious. Beautifully mastered tracks by an absolutely incredible band. On of my personal favorites, it's impossible to not register to this record once you've heard it. Get at it if you wanna feel alive again, unless you think that can wait. (Ha. Citizen pun.)
