You've capture my emotions to a T. I find it odd that no one is giving Green Bay a chance. I guess it's due to Rodgers' lack of mobility right now, but to me he's still the type of guy that can take over a game, even hobbling around. I will not count them out.
And it scares me a little bit how The Colts are being given even less of a chance somehow. I don't think I've heard one person predict the Colts will win, or even a tight game for that matter. I mean I think the Pats will win pretty comfortably too when you sit and look at each team and how the Pats blew them out a couple months ago, but I just hate when predictions are this one sided. And in the same vein as Rodgers, Andrew Luck has the ability to take over a game. He's been much too turnover prone to this point in his career, but if he plays to his ability and protects the football, I wouldn't put it past him to keep this thing close til the end. I'll never forget in the 2001-2002 AFC Championship when the Patriots were given no chance, and the Steelers booked their tickets to the Super Bowl before the game was even played. We all remember how that one turned out 😁 . But the big difference here is that the Patriots themselves are not at all overlooking their opponent, it's just everyone else that is.
It's really nice to see Rodgers and Luck, by far my two favorite quarterbacks in the league outside of Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr., still alive on championship weekend. Watching Manning crumble over the second half of this year was truly a pleasure as a Brady fan. I think last weekend officially put the fork in the greatest quarterback of this generation debate (I consider Rodgers in the next one, and time will tell if he can approach Brady's staggering resume). Manning and Brady's playoff resumes are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Manning is 11-13 in his career, with 9(!) one and dones. Brady is now 19-8. Manning is the greatest regular season quarterback of all time, and one of the greatest choke artists in post season history. That should be his legacy. And quite honestly, if Brady wins these next two games, it's tough not to consider him the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. Hate on the Patriots all you fuckers want, but I don't think we'll ever see another run like this one. They haven't finished at or below .500 even once since 2001 when Brady took the helm. He's played in 9 AFC Title games in the 13 he's been the starter. Staggering.

I agree with you all around, pearljammer. The Colts aren't being given enough respect, they don't really worry me but they do make me see that nothing's given and they are a team that could pull an upset. Eapecially if the pats and everyone writes them off. So, I have respect there.
As for the pack, yeah I understand the media and the world seeing the Seahawks as favorites, but Rodgers is a beast and a competitor without match (okay maybe Brady, and a couple guys but not many) and I just think this is a great opportunity for him to be the hero that brings the proverbial dragon down in its own home.
And yeah Brady is the greatest in terms of longevity and what he's accomplished. Rodgers is definitely my favorite and maybe the second best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing, we just haven't seen enough of his career play out. They're both gods and I've wanted to see a Packers vs Patriots Super Bowl for years because I've wanted to see those 2 legends in the field together.

Just a beautiful, introspective singer songwriter album. The arrangements are spare but contain beautiful little details, a sound effect here, and echoey thing there. Its beautiful.
I love this album! It's so fun and so strange and raucous and unique and fabulous. Sort of a strange Tom Waits esque vibe, like a underground bar feel.
This is just one of the most purely beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. It's a dark, ghostly, ambient album with these eerie voices and amazing textures. Super cool also that it's composed in large part of old old 78s from the 20s, old pop tunes all twisted and made into something new.

Hurting the other players feelings should not really enter into the decision making during an AFC Championship game. As exemplified by the Green Bay loss, weird things can happen. The Packers pre-celebrated their super bowl berth (e.g not running back the interception), and look what happened. Teams can score crazy quick. Weird shit happens. The NFL implementing a mercy rule seems kind of silly. They're grown men. They can deal with it. I suppose you think the Oregon coach is asshole too for their total beat down on FSU. Come to think of it most college coaches would be assholes from what I see on the ESPN ticker parade. They probably are. LOL.

It's not "hurting the other team's feelings" as much as it's just downright poor sportsmanship. This isn't Madden, doing that and just running up the score is majorly douchey. Even after that play, they were still running shotgun and spread formations, passing and stuff, when all they needed to do was run the ball to run out the clock. But that's not what Belichick does, he's the definition of a bad sport.
If Phil "How many points do you need to win an NFL game? The answer is more" Simms says "Ok, now they're kind of running up the score" then you know you're in a bad place. I'm not even suggesting they create a mercy rule or anything, it's just what you do when you're blowing out another team. You just run the clock out by running the ball. You don't keep throwing the ball downfield, going for big plays so you can score a touchdown and win 45-7 rather than 38-7. It's bad sportsmanship, plain and simple.
And you know next year there's going to be a rule implemented to prevent teams from doing the shifty formation things that the Patriots have been doing. It's getting to the point where it's ridiculous, with even the refs getting confused. It's all sketchy shit, and that's what the Patriots do (see: Spygate). _________________ Progressive Rock
