I voted for Slint, Spiderland is exceptional. Godspeed would be choice #2, but I know only two records by them (and particularly not the F# something). I could never understand how Laughing Stock could be assimilated to pstrock but that's probably just me. It's the best album from the artists suggested though.

Great poll! I love the addition of a post-metal band like Neurosis, and the no-wave Swans. Believe it or not, "post-rock" is about a whole lot more than long, boring, predictable instrumentals ๐Ÿ˜ฒ (also, nice to see zero votes for Explosions in the Sky!)

Slint, Bark Psychosis and Tortoise are also deserving of #1 honors, although my allegiance lies with Mark Hollis and the Talk Talk lads.

Might have also included Do Make Say Think, Gastr del Sol and Rodan...maybe even Isis or Hum
