I just recently got into vinyls. What albums would you consider a must have in your collection? I already Bought Revolver by The Beatles , Rock N Roll by John Lennon and Machine Head by Deep Purple. tell me what should i buy next i like pretty much anything !!
Hey!
I recommend checking out a couple of lists online that talk about essential albums or the canon of music. It wont allow me to link to anything here but there are quite a few which all seem to agree with each other about the most essential records to have n your collection.
However, its always best to just buy stuff you like.
Here's a bit of inspiration for you to get started.
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here
Radiohead - OK Computer, Kid A
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, In a Silent Way, Bitches Brew
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Cream - Disraeli Gears
The Velvet Underground & Nico - Seltitled
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Led Zeppelin - IV, III, Houses of the Holy
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
Pixies - Doolittle
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

Nice list!! I think you're right. This is the perfect starter package considering his picks. Needs this though...
I recommend finding things that you cannot find otherwise, or would be hard to find on other formats. I also look for stuff with unique album artwork. This is one such album.
Perhaps listen to lots of music on youtube or Spotify and if you fall in love with an album and it is more than just puppy love - it probably deserves to take up space in your life.
Also here's a good start on BEA top 100 albums (this was like a year or two ago, but likely these lists still have good stuff in them):
I recommend every one that is out there of my late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal.
God bless you and his family always!!!
Holly
P.S. His second album released in 1967 is where you will find the first ever copy of the song named "Hush" that went on to be covered by the Deep Purple act. Here is Billy Joe singing it 30 years later.
