I'm in the minority, but IMO this is second to Harvest.
"We all look for beauty in the worst places. Where the jewels of Babylon were once the sought after treasure, most now prefer to seek the whore. And how many forms does that seductive whore take? We are all seduced, but I beg this world not to crucify her, but rather to ignore her. If you don't, you'll become the monsters she wants you to be." _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Imperfect, sensitive Aspie with a melody addiction
My introduction to Neil and once my favorite of his, but now I'll take On the Beach, Tonight's the Night, and maybe even Everybody Knows This is Nowhere over this. The title track and "Southern Man" are the highlights for me. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

Please, stop. This is gruesome. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
I’ve had On The Beach phase, Everybody Knows... phase, Rust Never Sleeps phase, even Harvest Moon phase, but After The Gold Rush is the most complete Neil Young album imho. The title track is 10/10, Birds and Tell Me Why aren’t too far, neither are When You Dance..., Don’t Let It Bring You Down and Southern Man. In fact the whole record is nearly flawless. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart

'Don't Let It Bring You Down' is *stereotypical Italian chef hand gesture/kiss thing that makes like a "mwah" sound*.
EDIT: Also, Saint Etienne's version of 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart' is easily my favourite cover version of all-time and maybe in my top ten pop songs ever made, so this album deserves a lot of credit for that alone.
