It's the chart I've been using as a point of reference during the last couple of months for the "You must listen to the album below you: canon edition" game, so saying it is my favorite chart at the moment would be a fair assessment. Hopefully I will finish some other stuff that's on my listening queue as soon as possible and come back to it, I look forward to listening to every single album in it.

Thanks! No matter how old I get it’s still strangely exciting to get cotd

I woke up and to the dreadful news of projected -1 to high of 3 degrees this entire day here in St. Louis. But after that dreadful thing was the notification of new PM here at BEA, and this. So it all evens out.

I haven’t has comments on my chart in like years and years. Maybe I’ll do that soon.

Interesting that you already have 3 2020s releases. Overall it's very Ryancore and all the better for it. Might browse it in the canon game some time.

Ha yeah, I'd rank em For the First Time Tied with SAWAYAMA and 3rd Charli XCX's 2020 album, but I love em all.

Also, I love that I have gotten someone else to use the term "Ryancore" and indeed many historians years from now will probably point to this chjart as the origin and the quintessential distillation of the genre in its early years. ha.

Oh, wow, Group Sex! That one brings me back to high school. Great album. I knew we had the Dylan/Band thing in common, and the Yeezy, but we intersect more in the Built to Spill/Pavement/Belle & Sebastian part of the music spectrum than I realized. And Journey In Satchidananda is my new jam.

Hell yeah! Group Sex is incredible, if a bit bloated and overlong Wink

And I did see you reviewed Alice Coltrane and loved it. She and this album really are quite special.

And 90s indie rock is some of the coolest shiz ever.

I probably should stop obsessively replying to each comment. It will seem like I'm TRYING to keep this chart post at the top of the music forum. Which is most certainly NOT the reason. lol

Although I dislike hardcore personally, I have known of Group Sex ever since Joe S. Harrington’s Top 100 Albums from the early 2000s, in which list Group Sex was #41 – remarkably within one place of its position here. It seems amazing to call an album that is only fifteen minutes long “overlong” though!

Aside from that point, the list is very good, with a genuine diversity of genres and albums. Looks Like Rain is perhaps the most noteworthy selection. Mickey Newbury’s music is very much an acquired taste, but I am beginning to appreciate him with more listening. Although not a metal fan, NOLA is another “wildcard” worth noting, one which I have never seen on another list here.
