Which five artists would you pick out of these options?

I'd go with Kate Bush, The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, JAY-Z, and Fela Kuti. (Carole King and Tina Turner are already inductees, just not for their solo work.) _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM
Wow... you are old when your "high school" artists are getting inducted.
I suppose it'd be:
1) Foo Fighters
2) Rage Against the Machine
3) JAY-Z (if he weren't here, easy pick for LL Cool J)
4) Fela Kuti
5) Kate Bush
Also I sure hope Lemmy, Petty, Bowie, and Prince (don't care enough to look it up ) are already inducted since they deserve it more than anyone on this list.
Also maybe they should just call this the music hall of fame since it was originally created during a time of "rock n' roll" revival/celebrating those like Chuck Berry, but then didn't stop there. Anyway, that's my take.
FYI on current standings on votes:
Tina Turner444951 Votes
1. Iron Maiden (One of the three most defining bands of metal => Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica)
2. Kate Bush (Perhaps the most important genre defining artist for Art Pop)
3. Fela Kuti (No brainer!)
4. New York Dolls ( One of the two most important bands in the development of punk => The Stooges & New York Dolls)
5. The Go-Goโs ( One of the most important New Wave Bands. More important than Devo even though I like Devo more.)

Lemmy is the only one on that list who isn't in (unless he was inducted for a band other than Motorhead that I'm somehow unaware of). Motorhead were nominated last year but didn't make the cut.
Interesting how many of the current nominees have already been nominated but didn't make the cut:
- Kate Bush: 2018
- Devo: 2019
- Carole King: 1989
- Chaka Khan: 2016, 2017
- LL Cool J: 2010, 2011, 2014, 2018, 2019
- New York Dolls: 2001
- Rage Against the Machine: 2018, 2019
- Todd Rundgren: 2019, 2020
For my picks I'd have to go with:
- Carole King (only one on the list I'm surprised hasn't been inducted already)
- Iron Maiden (surprised they haven't been nominated before)
- Fela Kuti
- Kate Bush
- Devo
Rage, Jay-Z, and Foo Fighters feel too recent for inclusion, I'm sure they'll get in eventually.
Agree about changing the name since they've clearly moved beyond "rock and roll" but I suppose "music hall of fame" might not work since they probably want some kind of term to refer to non-classical music, and I'm guessing they also don't want to use the word "pop". ๐ค _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
