On Avery Island is solid, but Just For A Day is stellar and would be on my chart if Souvlaki didn't exist.

I prefer Souvlaki to Just For A Day, but it's still much better than On Avery Island.

You know, this is weird. As much as I am in love with Souvlaki (it is my favourite album somedays) Just For A Day doesn't catch my attention very much. I mean, I like it, it just doesn't stay with me. I can't remember what the songs sound like.
Neutral Milk Hotel is always good. On Avery Island is great even if it doesn't even begin to touch ITAOTS.

Ahh. why does it always have to be so difficult. 2 of my all time favorites. Both are overshadowed by the following release, but On Avery Island and Just For A Day are both damn near perfection.
my vote goes to On Avery Island but it's a photo finish

On Avery Island for me. Of course both bands have done better work (though I would probably rate Souvlaki last in Slowdive's discography) but one on one On Avery Island would keep me coming back much more often.

I thought Just for a Day was very bland, especially when compared to Souvlaki and Pygmalion. Need to revisit On Avery Island, but based on what I can remember, I should end up voting for it.
