For Are You Experienced US version you have Purple Haze

If only that was it! The UK release of this is an abomination. My three favorite songs from the album (Purple Haze, Hey Joe, The Wind Cries Mary) aren't there! _________________

Oh maybe I got tat mixed up. I know that the US and UK versions swap Purple Haze and Foxey Lady. I don't know which gets which.
The 1997 reissue of it on CD is pretty definitive and includes all tracks on both the US and UK versions. What copy do you have? _________________ -Ryan

I guess the one that one that combines them, but the original U.S. release did have those three songs I mentioned, while the UK version didn't. _________________

Even though I think the Americans got a slightly better version, I still don't like it when the record company (or even the artist, though I'm pretty sure it's almost always the institution to blame) rearrange the album for different regional releases. Thankfully with the whole internet thing that's kind of stopped happening, but even Is This It is different for American and British audiences (though I think this was because they replaced a song for the American version that might have seemed insensitive after 9/11).
It annoys me especially because on rankings like this website employs different people might have different ideas of what the album is. I suppose I'm being selfish though and not considering the context. I mean... Aftermath was pretty much the easiest way to get "Paint It, Black" in the US. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

Did both of them release same day?

Actually there is at least Norman Bates, too.
I like this album very much, but I just feel it gets weaker and weaker as it progresses. I prefer Between The Buttons.

British album 15th April. American album 20th June. Not a huge time difference, but "Paint It, Black" was released during that time. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

I disagree. AYE's UK version is brilliant by itself, though the US release might be an improvement. I like the new version which combines all the tracks plus some more, that's probably the definitive version (there are also UK and US versions of that, with the order of the songs different, but at least they are all there)
EDIT: I see the combined version has been mentioned already, oh well. Aftermath is a good album anyway, but there are better albums by the Stones admittedly. Both versions are good, but as is the case with all the US versions, one could buy the Singles Collection to eliminate the need for those, because the UK versions are mostly good too.

A clear leap forward, the first to include all originals I believe. I think this is my 7th favorite Stones record after: Exile, Beggars Banquet, Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, Between the Buttons and Some Girls.
