I'm sticking with my nominee until it goes up against Danny Brown or Kendrick. _________________ "Those are you've got some nice shoulders, I'd like to put my hands around them."
Two songs that I find rather unexciting, if pleasant and listenable. I don't dislike either, by any stretch, and they both have something distinctive going on structurally or sonically that makes them identifiable as representative works from their respective parent albums (both of which, unfortunately, I found disappointing: Art Angels for its garish and fussy production; Igor for being an obvious attempt by Tyler to make something with mass appeal that could double as his "grand artistic statement" but forgetting to include any personality in the mix), but ultimately, try as I might, I cannot muster an opinion strong enough about either to make me care remotely about who wins, or which to vote for. Abstain. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
I agree that both of these are a good representation of their respective album, and I love both albums. And songs. I slightly prefer Fresh Without Blood, it’s an incredible energy boost of a pop song and one of her best. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
Melatonin Tyler is the worst Tyler, I mean this song like much of the rest of the Igor sounds fantastic in theory but even after multiple go-arounds I feel nothing. Not that there isn't necessarily substance here, just something about the performance and execution is stultifying the overall sound and feel.
Not my favorite Grimes track from AA and for some reason I would rather not see her repeat a tournament win with lesser (but still mostly terrific) material, but I'm still voting it for here without hestitation
