I might actually rate this one a little higher than #1,143 — like it or not, it practically defined the whole dreampop genre, along with the Cocteau Twins and, I dunno, bands like Lush, The Sundays, The Blue Nile, and anything involving Slowdive's Rachel Goswell in some way. And that's putting aside the fact that the series itself opened up whole new possibilities in terms of what you could do with the hour-long weekly TV drama format.

I'd probably put it in the 400-500 range, but I'm biased, so maybe somewhere between 700 and 900 would be more appropriate.

It's the best soundtrack of all time imo. Not even Morricone could do something as cool and profoundly beautiful. Also happens to be by far my favourite dark jazz album, no other album in the genre sounds as dark and entrancing without being tacky. It can easily be listened to without watching the show, just like Julee Cruise's Floating Into The Night works well on its own.

I do like me some soundtracks but haven't listened to it yet. Hearing incredible things about it so I might.
