I don't understand why Terminator 1 is thought of more highly by you and Scaruffi than Terminator 2. Long story short, Terminator 2 felt more "deep" to me. |
Not really thinking about those right now but the first is a lot grittier, more tense, suspenseful, “horror”. 2nd is good, high quality action but just doesn’t have the same sense of desperation. It also isn’t as original and repeats the first in ways. It does add some themes (Arnold as father figure, as the good guy who also haunts from the first) but these aren’t handled in the most creative way (rather, high quality Hollywood treatment). Still well worth watching and I can understand those who feel it’s better. It’s probably a better spectacle. _________________ Best Classical

Do you think there really is a Wagner-ian influence or resemblance in Foetus?

Would have to re-listen. I will try as soon as I can, but I've mostly been off on other things -- sorry, very little art, music, movies -- relative to the norm -- so far this year! My life has been extra-extra-swamped with other things since late last summer! _________________ Best Classical

I'm not sure about "directly inspired by" but perhaps in its epic (almost "operatic") sense of drama and how unusually extended its development/progressions towards a climactic resolution are for its longer tracks, than most Rock music. _________________ Best Classical
