It's pretty hard to accurately assess the quality of an album's production from a youtube video.

As for Destroyer...I'll say the production was good. It was the songs that were mostly terrible.

Just type in HD or HQ. I think I heard Destroyer in HD, but that would still mean the production is bad. And yes, the quality of the video affects the sound quality a little. Manyof the album's I've heard were in HD.

On subject of HD, Dr. Feelgood is an amazing HD album.

For the briefest moment I thought you were referring to the excellent band Dr. Feelgood, but I should have known better. You should check out Down By The Jetty by them when you get the chance though.

The highest quality audio you could hope to get from Youtube is 192 kbps.

Everything made by ABBA ever.

Frankly; the production is pretty much everything they had... so damn efficient (and that comes from a total ABBA hater).

The first albums that come to mind won't ring a lot of bells: Mysterio by Ian McCulloch and Spooky by Lush. Both Robin Guthrie productions, in which he he applies that 'aquatic' sound that does so much of Cocteau Twins' charm - however on those two albums it almost ruins what are very good pop songs.

Dark Side of the Moon, Boston s/t, Led Zeppelin IV, A Night At The Opera, Loveless, Pet Sounds and Sgt. Peppers all sound just like jumbled pieces of lo-fi garbage. No care or attention to detail was applied to those haphazard albums.

Slanted and Enchanted.

Can something be poorly produced when its intentionally done that way? I'm asking this seriously. I'd like to hear what people think, because Lo-fi as a genre was known for the weird production and was one of its key elements. The production of Slanted and Enchanted adds to its appeal, at least for me.
