Deserves its accolades, one of the best 60s albums and the musicians here show incredible talent. The last track is overlong but still great. I'm not the biggest jazz fan but I do love this.

But in all seriousness, this is some classic and essential jazz. I slightly prefer Mingus Ah Um, but this is still a brilliant piece of music. _________________

The best jazz album ever. Period.
Not that I've heard a lot of jazz albums, but this is still freaking great.

No doubt this is beautiful, incredibly engaging and rich and passionate and many many other descriptive words apply. It's just an amazing cohesive statement and there are points of pure genius on here which are hard to top. Not really my fave jazz record, but top 20. Also I also feel that Trio And Group Dancers drags on a bit too long. The first 3 tracks and 20 minutes of the record however are absolutely mind blowing. _________________ -Ryan
