Considering my nationality I have a bit of a spotty relationship with Rush. Still, this is probably the album I enjoy the most in their catalogue. The Camera Eye is a great under heard track.

Still a great album. Even though I don't really listen to Rush anymore, it is still a cool experience whenever I choose to.

Massively impressive virtuoso musicianship. Positively brilliant songwriting. Super tight integration. Fantastic sound. Seven cuts of which at least six are perfect 10s and the last is no less than a 9.9. This my friends is the single greatest album ever cut. This goes straight to number one with zero hesitation and there it will stay for the duration of time. Unbeatable.

footnote: maybe single greatest album from Rush. Permanent Waves is also amazing. always debateable.

Yeah I don't think this is the best Rush album. I'm also rarely in the mood for Rush these days, but when I am, this absolutely slaps (but not as much as Permanent Waves and Hemispheres).

When it comes to Rush, I'm more a fan of their pretentious prog era (2112, Hemispheres, A Farewell to Kings) than their more radio-friendly era, but Moving Pictures is the exception to that, cause it's a killer album. I think from Moving Pictures on though, we start getting some diminishing returns. There are definitely some great nuggets, like Power Windows (and I'd even argue Counterparts is pretty solid), but as far as I'm concerned, even a mediocre Rush album is still a fun time

For years now, Rush has pretty much been my de facto favorite band. They’ve meant the most to me for the longest. With that said, last calendar year I listened to Moving Pictures with my good headphones for the first time and I was blown away. I was amazed what that specific listening experience did for an album I’ve already loved for so long.

Lengthy story short, this is an all-time great album that is holding up remarkably well.

Permanent Waves is still my go to Rush but Moving Pictures is where they really mastered being the technical skills for mass consumption. Tom Sawyer is the one everyone goes to but I have to say nearly every track could have enjoyed radio play.

Definetly one of the best albums to come from Canada.
