Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.5/100, a mean average of 73.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.6.

Absolutely essential '90s time capsule. The perfect sonic middle ground between their debut, Pretty on the Inside, which was all piss and vinegar without too many hooks, and Celebrity Skin, which some found a bit too polished and radio friendly. Courtney Love was arguably just as talented as Kurt- and yes, that's always been a controversial take, but this album is Exhibit A.
This album strikes me as heavily influenced (although, perhaps, subconsciously) by Throwing Muses. It rivals some of their releases and is a fine record. The only thing that keeps it from being an all-time classic is none of the songs stand out as truly memorable. They do have pieces of the songs that are quite good, but nothing that really is a stand-out, IMO. 8.5/10!
Starts off great but then quality of the songs dips a bit. Fantastic rhythms on many tracks. Enough decent songs to deem it a good album. Not enough to make it great
Quite enjoyable record, raw punk energy with great Nirvana-like songwriting.

DO not like this, Do I have to, No. Her voice is destroying my ears (What's left of them!)
I must admit that I liked Doll Parts and Jennifers Body...

A vida pessoa da Courtney lançou uma sombra no Hole. Esse álbum ainda é subestimado por isso.
If not for the off-putting vocals, this would be quite enjoyable, but that is a rather big if. Overall, 60/100.
Good rock album. her best work!
I think this is my personal favorite grunge album -- it's as loud and powerful as others, but has a lot more in the way of catchiness and hooks. Courtney Love's voice isn't for everyone, and it's certainly not 'pretty,' but in my opinion, her vocals are fantastic and really interesting, especially on dynamic songs like "Violet" and "Doll Parts." My favorite song is "Jennifer's Body," and in addition to the already mentioned, another favorite of mine is "Miss World." I really appreciate that songs like "Miss World" feel very sad and beautiful, while "Violet," "Plump," etc. all burst with anger.

Sounds too much like a Sonic Youth cover band. And sometimes she sounds like Kurt Cobain. Unless Kurt was here the style thief, I don't see any reason to be very excited about this. Unless you're just looking for more Sonic Youth.
