This is one of my favourite Mellencamp albums. Many songs need a little time to grow but it's a very relaxed recording with great guitar sounds. (album rating: 72,50 %) (Edited)

Pensive, mature JCM. Pop Singer was the rather unfortunate pop radio song but Jackie Brown, the title track and Mansions in heaven were soulful, pensive well-written songs.
