Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.7/100, a mean average of 76.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

So Janine -- I've mentioned Janine elsewhere, I think-- bought it and played it at our common wall, and I was trying to study, my girlfriend was naked, and I wasn't sure about this one -- and then it got to "Spanish Moon" and suddenly the nakedness started to overpower everything else, and let's just say neither my feets nor anything else did any failing for the rest of the album. And they were still at the top.

I have all of the Lowell George Little Feat records and this one is the best studio album they made. All of the George-era Feat records are fantastic (except for Down on the Farm, which was recorded when Lowell was deep in the depths of the addiction that would kill him) but Feats Don’t Fail Me Now is the best of all their studio work.

One of three great Little Feat albums. Another excellent set, this time incorporating a bit more funk into the mix. Skin it back, and, Spanish moon, are the funkiest songs, but other highlights include, rock and roll doctor, oh,Atlanta, and a re-recording of, cold, cold, cold/tripe face boogie. That derivative decision(although admittedly great) on the last track means to me, personally, that, feats, is just slightly behind, sailin' shoes, and, Dixie chicken, in the overall ratings. Still, a very good album from an underrated band.

Little Feat's fluid and elegant form - which bridges The Band and the Doobie Brother's - reaches its apex on the brilliant, if slightly uneven, 'Feats Don't Fail Me Now'. The sound on the album is distinctly funkier than on their previous releases which reflects the growing over-riding influence of keyboardist Bill Payne.
