Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Another terrific album, and also an introduction to the wonderful world of Terry Allen and the Panhandle Mystery Band.

Good/great songs marred (as is par for the course for Little Feat albums in my experience) by dull production values. Like the Grateful Dead and other bands of this general roots/southern/folk rock disposition, they should really only be fairly judged by the live record only. Check out Waiting for Columbus and you'll be a fan for life anyway.
