This is regarded as Joni's 2nd best album. It is all that & more it is hard for me to separate this and my favourite Joni album Hejira but this is also my 2nd best Joni album. It is full of great songs the first 3 tracks being an example of Joni at her best. Overall the album has a jazzy feel to it which she would further explore in her next 3 albums.
Court and spark, is easily in the top three Joni Mitchell albums. It sees Joni embracing the the jazz sounds she only hinted at in, for the roses. Every track here is beautifully structured and executed. Some superb songs in, help me, car on the hill, and, new man in Paris. It's a lovely album, still sounds great today.

Everything is perfect. The songs are complex and its structures are very surprising. The arrangements are very adult. The musicians are great and the sound is very good. Joni's the greatest backing vocals creator that has ever lived.
Everything is too much. The complexity and the unpredictable structures are boring. The harmonies and arrangements are very XIX century classical. It is overproduced, which kills the beauty in Joni's majestic simplicity. Everything is too much.
Even though, Help Me and People's Parties are probably the best tunes inside.
from beginning to end a masterpiece.

This album along with Blue are masterpieces. Joni is an exceptional songwriter. (Edited)
