Maybe it's not essential. Personal bias because for a long time I only had this and Bitches Brew on CD and there wasn't online to check stuff out. So I played them both to death. And I loved both albums for different reasons. And I still do. Also I'm definitely NOT a Jazz expert. (Edited)
Tracks 2 and 4 feel especially strong. Great chemistry and great jazz. 9.5/10!
