Californian quartet Super Whatever have released an excellent debut album for Hopeless Records which may well be the best album no-body hears in 2018
The band explore a wide range of guitar laden landscapes here from a healthy dose of emo to forays into 90s indie, wiry post-punk and straight-ahead alt-rock
The excellent "Kathrin With a K" sounds like it came straight from a Catfish and the Bottlemen album whilst "Advice" , clocking in at 45 seconds and "8:15AM" at 2:00 whilst brief both just work brilliantly .The 6 minute epic closer "Loser" saves the best for last leaving a powerful and lasting impression every time
Wonderful stuff , easily on my list for favourite albums in 2018
