Update: a man with a top hat and a cane has showed up in my room. He is offering me money, fame, and all the women in the world. All I have to give him in return is my soul. It's a shame this album already took it.

Oh my god! This is trauma encapsulated in album form. This is when all the monsters come out and try to kill you. And for me, top 10 for 2018 as well as going into the decade charts. Also though I heard snippets from this album, when Melon decided to fuck over No Nut November with his 10, I needed to listen to it. And damn. Just damn.

I agree with splashfoop's comment that it's not very original, being someone vastly familiar with the realm of noise rock; however, within the landscape of 2018 music, I think it is. Which is why I put it at #1 on my chart. Nothing this year has had such an immediate affect on me, and I think it will only grow stronger through repeat listens.

I am so confused listening to this album right now... feel like it deserves a 0/10 but I don't know how to rate something like this.

The hour of a new punishment has come. Yes, I am one of the masochists who consider that Daughters' self-titled album released in 2010 is one of the best rock album of the decade. Daughters, throughout his career, keeps shaking, fascinating. Neither experimental, nor rock, nor metal, nor dark, the American band explores what is more disturbing and extreme by engraving their opus in our neurons. A story of mental drift, pure madness, schizophrenia: "You Will not Get What You Want" is an absolute masterpiece of our time. This album, Daughters' fourth noise record, is by far the most ambitious, disturbing, terrifying and accomplished. But it remains above all cathartic and addictive. It is a unique work that everyone must listen to, if only to feel relief or nausea.
