A solid collection of instrumental jams from a band with undeniable influence on numerous artists that I consider live favorites.

under-rated on this website. A lot of great funk tracks. I dont need lyrics when the music is that good. The opening track is my least favorite, after that though a lot of hip hop throwbacks, but played by the original artist.

Carrying on from Booker T and them; the Meters put their own stamp on the style, though. Put this music on and the whole scene just gets cooler.
It's only "repetitive" in that they are a bass-drums-organ-guitar quartet; they don't change up the instruments, bring in horns or vocals. But the tunes are each distinct; there's not a feeling of sameness from track to track, musically.
It's subtle and chill, a different kind of funk.

A bunch of okay, repetitive funk after the first two tracks, which are pretty great. The influence is undeniable though.
