Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.8/100, a mean average of 75.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 10.9.

Excellent BOC early years sampler. The title perhaps suggests it was one live venue, in fact it isn't a true live album, each track is from a different venue, although it has been put together cleverly so when listening you hardly realise. Worth owning for Godzilla and Reaper.

Blue Öyster Cult add more and more melodic elements to their Rough edged sound of the early days and suddenly they create "Hits". Astronomy, ETI, Don't Fear The Reaper… a great addition to more Basic stuff like R.U. Ready 2 Rock and Godzilla. By the way: There's a re-release with 7 additional tracks.

Worth having for the song "Astronomy" alone. The best version of this great song.

Short and to the point. There are things about this I like. "R U Ready 2 Rock." But a lot more I don't like..."Kick Out The Jams" and "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place."

Despite its short duration, this is a fantastic live album. The live R U Ready to Rock may be the hottest live album opening ever. The rest of the album manages to maintain the momentum. Highly recommended.

With only 7 songs, this is not really meant to capture the full BOC concert experience, but rather to provide a sampling of what the band sounds like live. On that level it works really well. BOC's two best songs (Don't Fear the Reaper and Godzilla) are featured here, and the cover of The Animals' We Gotta Get Out of This Place is a nice inclusion.
