The Last Rocket (studio album) by Takeoff

Thank god this album doesn't indulge in the stream trolling we've come to expect from QC. The album itself starts well, with much more interesting production than you normally get from migos, as well as really smooth transitions between tracks. The vocal delivery also stands out as being far less reliant on adlibs than a standard migos release. Unfortunately the quality drops hard in the middle of the album. I Remember probably has some of the laziest songwriting I've ever heard, and is well in the running for worst track of the year. The next two tracks aren't much better. Things pick up again from insomnia onward, but there's no incredible highs on this project. Obviously no-one listens to a Takeoff project for lyrics, but even then a line like "I am an investor so I make investments" really does stand out s bad. Otherwise the beats and vocal delivery are pretty on point, putting this release way above QUAVO HUNCHO.
