Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. There are some gems on here but I'm afraid that this is just another attempt at the "release everything and hope something sticks" method of album making that we've seen popularized by Migos and Drake. Future is better at this than those two, though. The production on most tracks is great. The album is a little repetitive but it is not without it's highlights, those being Tempation, F&N, Batpiize and Tricks on Me. I know that Tricks on Me is pretty much the same as mellow-island-like album enders like Hotline Bling (on Views) and Coffee Bean (on Astroworld) but it's still a catchy song. In my opinion, the album has too many songs on it. It's hard to keep track of which song is which sometimes. With the recent trend of making songs shorter, I think it would be a good idea for artists doing this to keep the albums at a normal track count. 20 songs is usually too much.
The trap is not necessarily the worst genre of Hip-Hop. Artists T.I, UGK or Travis Scott do a good job. But it's true that Future's music is really repetitive and insignificant. It is true that some of his music is catchy and well produced in The Wizrd but the essential remains repetitive and tiresome.
