A very inspired debut album, keep on the good job! Best track - Paralysed
One of the most intriguing debut records I've heard in years. This young Londoner manages to perfectly capture the musical post-genre zeitgeist and goes even further.
Yanya's vocal switches between soothing harmony and powerful bellowing, the variety of musical styles she utilises, and (last but not least) the razor sharp production on this thing all make for an effortlessly enjoyable listen.
Despite some meandering tracks here and there ("Safety Net" and "Monsters Under the Bed" in particular) Miss Universe is a record that is incredibly hard to switch off. This is different and there's huge potential and I can't wait to hear what Yanya offers in the future.
Many have this nice memory of Nilüfer Yanya when she presented her unplugged version of her cover of Pixies. Since that day, the popularity of the young Londoner does not stop to grow. All the hype around her was more than justified. Well, in 2019 she FINALLY presents to us her debut album entitled "Miss Universe". With her indie pop tinged with neo-soul, jazz and small electronic flavors, Nilüfer Yanya mixes multiple influences. Miss Universe is a debut album showing the young Londoner on edge where we get to dive into his psychology, sunny days are offered to her.

Best track: "Paralysed"
A really fascinating listen. It starts out as any other guitar-led indie record but it morphs into something so much better. Much more listenable than I thought it would be.
This is a nice album. I'm surprised it's so low on the year chart, especially compared to arriana grande and billie eilish. Imo this is much better than either of those albums. Only time will tell if I'm still listening to this in months and years
A fantastic album. It is endlessly playable and has become my favourite album of the last few years. Come the end of the year I expect to see this in many critics' end of year lists.
