Rising star of the trumpet made in Chicago, Marquis Hill has unveiled his new album "Modern Flows Vol.2". Marquis Hill, a young trumpet player, joins the long list of great musicians from Chicago's jazz scene. On the trumpet or the bugle, Marquis Hill sharpens a warm sound with which he composes elegant and catchy songs. Whilst "Modern Flows" may not have the most modern flows it is still an aesthetically pleasing listen. Packed full of tricksy, wondering melodies. He is a talented composer who creating his own sound on original tracks inspired by post-bop, hip-hop, R&B and slam. I think this new record from Hill is a very good jazz album. I like the vocal parts a lot, I think it fits in very nicely. Overall a very relaxing and chilling album that is worth checking out.
