Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.5/100, a mean average of 74.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.5.

Slauson Malone is the solo project of Jasper Marsalis, a New York-based producer, visual artist and collaborator of Standing on the Corner, who is also the son of a famous jazz trumpet player Wynton Marsalis. "A quiet goodbye, from twenty to sixteen to eighteen"; is the first solo release of Marsalis. The album brings together a wide variety of samples and compositions that combine jazz, soul and hip-hop. I'm a fan of jazz, hip-hop, I like experimental, electronic music and glitch and I'm starting to get interested in blues music. Suffice to say that this album was made for me.The essence of the blues is visible on the song "My Feet's Hurt And Or I Was A Fugitive But Then I Realized There Was Nowhere To Run To" refers to Steve Reich's "Come Out", an important civil rights era song. The latest album of Marsalis is a truly coherent work that represents a new era of jazz and hip-hop. Slauson Malone is a pioneer of the genre, the history of music will be marked by this "post-rap" movement, reviving jazz through hip-hop and experimental. It's even more perfect than "Some Rap Songs"

top shelf lo-fi hip hop beats to study/relax to (joking...kind of). reminds me of the production on Some Rap Songs. The end definitely drags a bit, otherwise this would be a really great album
