I was a bit hesitant at first to see how Prince’s vault will be handled by his Estate but this is really well done. The songs don’t sound like demos more like album quality. There are many hits here for other artists and to hear these songs performed by Prince only enhances them.
Maybe Prince was to bored of these songs, or thought they didn't reach high enough to record them. Is he right? My first listens tells me he sometimes is and at other times I just don't know. For me it often sounds like world class funk or soul. Right now I place it on third place in his catalogue, after Purple rain and Sign O' the times.
