At best, Biffy Clyro's soundtrack album is just as hooky and confident as their regular releases. At worst it's so obviously made-for-a-movie music that it blends in with other recent soundtrack releases from rock bands. Songs like the hopelessly repetitive 'Colour Wheel' and the weirdly mixed 'Fever Dream' aren't among the band's best outputs, but there are some catchy call-backs to 'Only Revolutions' here as well, such as the perfectly adequate 'Different Kind of Love', and some slightly quirkier tracks, like 'Gates of Heaven' and 'Tunnels and Trees'.
One of the better aspects of the album is the mix of different styles, from the more typical Biffy Clyro rock, to something closer to Imagine Dragons or Twenty One Pilots and electronic music. The instrumentation is varied and the lyrics work just as well as on any other Biffy album.
