Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.2/100, a mean average of 68.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 8.7.

Nov19. Well, I have no idea what to make of opener; it is part INXS, goes soulful where The Black Crowes might take a song, and contains a riff that sounds right off a Danko Jones album. Same with the second song. If you could somehow combine Ramones and Elvis Presley with a backing Nirvana riff, then it would probably sound like 'Pelvis on Fire'. Even on songs I think are trying too hard to be hits, there are still great moments (like 'Rewind the Exit's' great guitar solo).
'Die to Live' floors it and is immediately lovable. With Neil Fallon (of Clutch) trading vocals, I was so happy this was a good song.
It has always been there, but singer Paulsen is channeling a lot more Elvis than James Hetfield on this album. 'Cheapside Sloggers' is a standard rock song but with some killer guitar (thanks to Gary Holt). I liked the 40 second 'Parasite'.
Actually, not all songs here do have their moments. This albums seems to be missing the edges. There are too many middle of the road, slow 'rockers' and several could have been shortened. 3/5
