Jan20. I'd actually forgotten this was a 2019 release, I had already listened to it so much. 7 songs are already in my H100. This could be album of the year for me OTTOMH. Let's see how this listen goes.
Awesome opening track ('Bland is the New Black') that just rocketed into my Top10, and what a title. 'Soul for Sale' was already entrenched in my Top20 and it deserves its spot. The cool backing guitars and vocals are awesome in this song. They have continued the experimentation with sounds that started on Lucid Again. This does not mean pop-production and adding hip hop which seems to constitute 'experimentation' in rock these days. I love the guitar tones they have discovered. A great mix of heavy and fast moments with slower, atmospheric moments, all without losing impact. Listen to songs like 'I Wanna Feel Again' and 'Nurture' - they have it all. The female vocals in parts adds another layer too. Now all songs (barring the short interlude) are into my H100 for 2019 and this is a real contender for my Album of the Year. 5/5
