Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.9/100, a mean average of 69.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

Not sure what George was going through while recording this boring album. His voice is terrible.

Acceptable at best.
The few really good songs are ruined by his voice (he was ill; I guess he thought he would never ever get healthy again so he proceeded ahead to record them that way).
Incomprehensible.

Forget it's George. Forget it's an ex-Beatle. On its own merit, it is a really good album.

Ive been diggin' this record for a while now, very compelling and relaxing. Simply shady and Far East Man are both in my top 10 George compositions. Peace :)

I love George. But this album sounds to me like he was going through the motions, on a bad day; unlike its superb predecessor "Living in the material world", but very much like its lacklustre follow-up "Extra texture", minus the laryngitis. Good moments though, for sure. It's George Harrison after all.

Decent Album. Once You get past that he had laryngitis when he recorded it it is musically pretty good. "simply shady" is my favorite track.

Its no 'All things...' But a pretty good follow up during that period in his life.
