Despite always enjoying the noise that Sonic Youth (and Thurston Moore by himself) produced, this is probably the man's best solo album. He shows off his gentler guitar skills more readily here, and the string arrangements are wonderful. He injects a bit of vim and vigour at times, but for the most part it's a fairly relaxed affair. That doesn't stop it from being a very good listen, however.
Best tracks: Benediction, Blood Never Lies, Orchard Street.
Shows that he can do more as a guitarist than just make noise, his best solo album.

My son is so pleased that he was named after Thurston Moore. This is a great album with more acoustic guitar that you would suspect.

This Sonic Youth front-man solo album is fairly laid-back and comes with strings and well-placed backing vocals. Good production from beck. It's a good album; unfortunately, no track stands out and the album doesn't really stand out as well. Sounds contradictory -- it's the difference between randy moss & chris carter just before carter retired.
