Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.7/100, a mean average of 64.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.7.

Love this album. It is intended strictly to be a tribute to Detroit hard rock (where Alice was born) and it serves that purpose well. Great, great album by the greatest hard rocker ever.
Alice Cooper's latest solo album isn't breaking any new ground, but its full of solid riffing. He reunites with the original Cooper band for a few songs. This record serves as a tribute to his hometown of Detroit and there are several covers from Detroit aritists. Lyrically the songs are pretty plain, but this album was better than I expected.
The album itself is relatively throw-away compared to other releases in Alice's storied career, but attention should be called to the end of "Hanging on by a Thread". The music fades, Alice introduces himself and encourages anyone struggling to call the suicide prevention hotline, and then literally provides the phone number: 1-800-273-8255.
In a 50+ year career of shock rock, this might have been the most shocking thing he's ever done...in a good way, obviously. Hilariously, "Shut Up and Rock" follows immediately, so the moment doesn't last, but it's a chilling nevertheless and extremely memorable given the context of the global nightmare we're currently all a part of.
