We had The College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation
We had Aquemini, Stankonia, and Speakerbox
We had Good Kid Maad City, To Pimp a Butterfly, and Damn
And now we have Flower Boy, IGOR, and Call Me If You Get Lost

The DJ Drama aspect was one my favourite things about it. It reminded me of listening to Lil Wayne mixtapes when I was 12. Sorry 4 The Wait, Dedication 3 and later 4. I loved that stuff and Tyler's voice works for that and Lil Wayne actually delivers a great verse on here. It doesn't feel like that fresh of an idea though considering Kendrick had Kid Capri ad-libbing on DAMN. four years ago.
It's when Tyler expands beyond this idea of the album having a mixtape vibe that I feel like it lost me a bit. I like long songs, I like long rap songs but two songs surpassing 8 minutes that are simply about being in love with your friend's girlfriend is bizarre. It's very high-school material and Tyler is 29-years-old now so is he really just being himself or is he trying to pander to young people? Or is Tyler going to head into Rivers Cuomo territory with age? Either way, it's not something I can really relate to or handle listening to an 8-minute monotonous story about. This isn't "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst." He's dangerously close to making a song about being in the friendzone. Those two songs along with weird spoken word coming from his mother bragging about beating up children and some other tone-deaf lyrical content Tyler really started to lose me in the back half of this.
The production is the standout by far. Every song sounds great and while I didn't expect Tyler to turn around and embrace rap again I was fully on board with it and he did it superbly as far as his beats go. While I can't really relate to owning a Rolls Royce or travelling all around the world during a pandemic (which is a very odd choice for the loose concept of the album to be), he's got some great bars and technically impressed me on several tracks.
Overall, I liked a lot of these songs and the mixtape feel of the album works for me but unlike Igor and Flower Boy there are some misses and it definitely feels like a step back from those projects for me.

Can we just ban Doctor Bob for saying that about Wilshire?

Started out solid enough but got stronger and stronger as it went on. An unbelievable flow throughout the album and a real mix of what he's done with his last two projects with a bit more teeth.

I don't like it as much as Igor, but the blending of styles from track to track is admirable.

Let me just say that right when I heard the dilla sirens throughout the album, it automatically solidified this as my potential AOTY

Tyler is a legend of this generation!!! Beautiful album
