Drawing huge influence from Tony Allen (drummer and musical director of Fela Kuti's band, one of the men most responsible for the development of Afrobeat), and Ethio-jazz, The Invisible Session brings in many black poets and musicians, including American-Finnish poet MC Bentality.
To my (admittedly untrained) ears, this sound like it could have come from west Africa or Ethiopia rather than Italy. No doubt there will probably be some controversy there, but to me this seems like a wonderfully put together ode to African jazz.
