Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. When Jamie Woon came on the scene, a good portion of the British press dismissed him as a James Blake knock-off. I don't know if they have a different cut of Mirrorwriting than I do, but I see very little similarity between the two. They're both doing a down-tempo thing, but Woon's tracks are much heavier on melody and groove. If he sounds like anyone, it's Terence Trent D'Arby.

I'd say this is more akin to SBTRKT than James Blake personally, but still very unique. This is a good album, but I think it gets a little repetitive towards the end. I do think the first half of this album is awesome though.
