I can't believe how underappreciated Jar Of Flies is. A hard rock borderline metal band strips down for an almost entirely acoustic album and pulls it off beautifully. Love the sound of this album.

Another instance of me not being able to pick which release from an artist I like more. Jar of Flies and Dirt are polar opposites, but are companion pieces in the AIC cannon. This record sees AIC plotting the same hopeless marshes, but this time with beautifully depressing acoustic sounds. Being the most metal and sludgy band in the Grunge scene, you wouldnt expect AIC to be able to pull of an acoustic effort with such grace. They go above and beyond
This album is absolutely flawless. The hits like Nutshell and No Excuses are great singles to take home. And the demonic bass at the start of the album in Rotten Apple encapsulates the band's irreplaceable style. Whale & Wasp is immensely evocative as an intense instrumental. Every track is unique and perfect. 10/10

LOVE that album so much... Nutshell is insane...to me it's like Smells like teen spirits or something. It's just as huge. The rest of the album is stellar also, even the cover art is just amazingly great.
I rate it 95/100. Being a full album, i'd probably give 100.
It's incredible how an album goes from incredibly dark, to light and warm feeling, in a matter of a couple songs. Amazing.
