Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.7/100, a mean average of 76.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.8.

An unknown band to me, this is a nice change after listening to so many punk albums of the late 70s (while going through the 1001 Albums book listens).
This is a strange mix of pop, power-pop, and hard rock. The guys on the cover look like teenyboppers!
live rock + roll
"I want you to want...me!?" This album is what "big in Japan" sounds like.
At Budokan is the likely starting point for many Cheap Trick listeners. The live atmosphere is captured well in this. Both sides are solid but the B-side steals the show. Dig it!

Super solid live record, obviously the second half is the highlight of it, but don't let that fool you; it's a consistently good album from start to finish and the performances are amazing, Cheap Trick at their very best.
Cool good time Rock'n'roll and outrageously catchy melodies. Including their signature tune "I Want You To Want Me", but even better "Ain't That A Shame"... That's what I call "a live killer"!

I love the energy here and Zeppelin, AC/DC influenced jams (best track: Need Your Love, which could be mistaken for Def Leppard or the Scorpions). But, this is not a great representation of everything Cheap Trick can do. To put it another way, if this record shows how they influenced hair metal, "In Color" shows how they influenced Nirvana. A fairly lightweight read of Cheap Trick's material.
A classic must own live album
This album seems to show up in so many music lovers collections and rightly so. A great live album full of energy. Good fun Rock n roll. A- MEZ

This is one of a handful of albums that really belongs in any rock/pop record collection, whatever your tastes.
Surrender still rocks
