Sidney Bechet was one of the first Jazz Saxophone soloists of star status to emerge from the beginnings of Jazz. He didn't earn acclaim for his playing prowess until the 40s, however, and spent much of the time between the 20s and 40s playing in Europe. This album compiles a near two dozen of the songs Bechet and his associates recorded over the years. Released in 1989 by EmArcy Records, (Cat#:840 633-2) it is a fitting remembrance of one of the earliest pioneers in music and a special talent in his own right. Authenticated on discogs.com
