Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This is terrific. Officially it's a mixtape but the way he's put it together and how it flows suggests there was much more thought behind it than just throwing disparate tracks together. It's more sonically interesting than most electronic club records, with a broader palette and a greater depth . The only criticism I have is that he uses too many clips of recorded conversation with certain Londoners - who are probably his relatives/friends - which are neither interesting nor amusing, so for that I gave it 95% instead of the full 5 stars. But the music is so good I can mostly ignore those. Also has my fave cover of the year.
