Model Citizen by Meet Me @ the Altar is the trio's first major label EP on the Fueled by Ramen label. The six tracks here are fairly solid and keeps momentum, with the only average track being Wake Up, which closes the album.
The vocals and lyrics are very light-hearted, while the guitar and drums are very ragged. If the listener is not turned off by the production, they will be rewarded with a pleasant listening experience. Model Citizen is a project worth revisiting many times over, more for the melodies and the hooks than for the lyrical content. Now that the group has landed a major label record deal, one can only hope for an impressive debut LP, with songs that hit harder, now that this charming and steadfast EP has seen the light of day.
Highly Recommended.
Condensed to a 7" Single:
A-Side: Feel a Thing
B-Side: Brighter Days
