From the liner notes of the album: "The next forkful of the jazz pie is never quite what one expects. This set of performance recordings, taken from a radio broadcast of a Paris concert by the John Coltrane Quartet either from 1961, or more likely, 1962, presents an apt example of that proposition." The album was released originally in 1979 on the Pablo Live label (Cat#: 2308 217) and features the classic line up of the Coltrane quartet - Coltrane on sax, McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums - although the album is only attributed to "John Coltrane". The group plays only three numbers on the album. Side One being consumed entirely by the over 26 minute long version of "Mr. P.C." In 1987, Pablo Live released the version of this album which I have on hand (Cat#: PACD-2308-217-2) Authenticated on discogs.com

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
