A wildly inventive and catchy pop album throughout with a very likeable lead singer, helmed by the outrageous lead single "Beat Of My Drum" that's one of my favourite tracks of the decade, let alone the year. Nicola isn't afraid to get personal (lyrics about public torment during her time in Girls Aloud make for a fascinating and upsetting listen) whilst still having a lot of fun on "Cinderella's Eyes". It's a big success and easily the best solo stab at music by any of the Girls Aloud members, rivalling some of the group's best singles, if not exceeding them.

What makes "Cinderella's Eyes" a really good pop album is its risk-taking with regards to the fresh, sonic production from a little-known member of one of the most mainstream, popular bands in the UK. "Beat of my Drum" is a great example of this; what an explosive pop single ahead of its time. Her vocals may be jarring, but they only add to the unique experience. Well worth listening to if you're a pop fan.
